Jennifer & Jerry
Hello and thank you for
taking the time to consider us by reading our
profile. Your courage for considering adoption
is awesome. We know we can not truly comprehend
the difficult path you are taking but we hope
that somehow we can give you some hope and
encouragement. . We are very
excited at the opportunity to provide a lifetime
of love, care, and joy for your child.
After years of unsuccessful
infertility treatments, and much prayer we
decided to pursue adoption to build our family.
Our struggle with infertility has made us
cherish parenthood all the more.
We know, firsthand, the joy of adoption for our
prayers were answered when we adopted our
daughter Mya, born July of 2000. Our experience
has been so incredible that we hope to expand
our family even more with another child.
We both know the joy and closeness of growing up
with siblings and Mya is eagerly looking forward
being "the big sister". We ask God to bless you as you consider an
adoption plan for your child and to bless us as
you read our profile.
ABOUT US
We met at a youth
ministry event in the summer of 1988. On
our first date we talked so much that we got
lost going to the restaurant; we have been best
friends ever since. We met while we were quite
young and have had the opportunity to grown
closer and closer over the years. In 2005 we
celebrated 12 years of matrimonial bliss. Our
commitment to God and each other grows daily. Early in our
marriage we enjoyed international travel, roller blading and hiking;. With the addition of Mya, we have happily moved on to
more family centered activities such as, trips
to Greenfield village and area zoos,
family camping, bike riding in the park, pushing
swings, and hours of silly, happy fun. We
are active members of our Catholic faith
community where we are blessed to be surrounded
by many faith filled friends and families.
ABOUT JENNY (Written by
Jerry)
Jennifer is a wonderful
wife, I knew immediately that she was the woman
I would spend my life with. She is truly
beautiful, in so many ways. She is a natural
at motherhood; her ability to sense our daughter Mya’s
needs borders on ESP. She loves spending her
days playing, reading, teaching, and
caring for Mya. She is a most gentle
and tender person and she pours that tenderness
out on others in generous measure. She is also very strong,
determined, intelligent and prayerful. She
is a true believer in "pray like its all
up to God but act as if its all up to you".
She has varied interests, enjoying scrap
booking, reading, and long walks. She brings
order to our home and is a extraordinary cook.
Her home made pumpkin and apple pies are sought
after by many a relative. Jennifer has a Masters
Degree in
physical therapy and works part time in a home
care setting which offers wonderful flexibility
for family. After the
arrival of a new baby she will take an extended
leave and return on an even more limited basis.
ABOUT JERRY (written by
Jennifer)
Jerry is, and always has
been, the man of my dreams. I feel priviledged
to be his wife.
Jerry, aka "the tool man"
is a “do it yourself” kind of guy. He
takes great pride in the many additions and
remodeling projects that have made our house
into a home. His first career was in youth
ministry and he spent 10 years working with
teens and their families. In order to better
support our family, however, Jerry changed
careers; he obtained a Bachelors in Management
Information Systems and entered the computer
technology field. He now owns and operates a
growing computer network/technology business,
which gives him flexibility and ample vacation
time to spend with the family.
Jerry
is a fantastic father. He is an active and
"hands on" kind of dad; it is common to see him
trailing behind a bicycle or pulling the sled
back up the hill for the 20th time
He is very joyful person, reminding us of the
importance of play and laughter in family life.
He always puts our family's needs first. He is a
wonderful provider-financially, spiritually and
emotionally
OUR FAMILIES
Family is very important
to us. We live in close proximity to and
enjoy close relationships with both of our
families. They have always supported and
shared our excitement about adopting. They
love Mya and are overjoyed at her being part of
the family. They share in our anticipation of
being blessed with another child through the
miracle of adoption.
Jennifer's family is small
and close consisting of her parents, who have
been married for 35 years, and one
younger brother Tom. Mya is the only grandchild
on this side of the family and enjoys much
attention and pampering. Jennifer’s extended
family is larger and more diverse, including
different races and several cousins who also
joined the family through adoption.
This side of the family is rich with Polish
traditions, enjoying large extended family
holiday celebrations filled with peirogies,
opwatek, and much love. “Sto Lat” rings out at
the many birthday celebrations.
Jerry comes from a large
family of 10 siblings and 26 grandchildren. On
his side of the family there is never a shortage
of cousins to play with or babysitters to lend a
helping hand. Jerry’s parents, now celebrating
47 years of marriage, have become experts in
loving such large numbers and making each child
feel special. As the uncle to so many nieces and
nephews Jerry learned quickly the art and joy of
play. He is not afraid to “let his hair
down” and have fun. Annually
we enjoy the Sornig Family Campout where we
spend a wild week of aunts, uncles, cousins,
marshmallows, campfires, games and lots of
family fun.
We enjoy an open
adoption relationship with Mya’s birthmother and share
Mya’s life thru letters, phone calls, and
visits. Together as adoptive and birth parents,
we all keep Mya’s best interest at heart and
work to have a healthy relationship for all
involved. Respect, honesty and trust are the
keys to this ongoing relationship. We are
excited and eager to develop another unique
relationship with our next child’s birth family.
OUR HOME
Our 3 bedroom house is nestled in a quiet
subdivision that is full of children. Our
backyard is filled with swing sets ,lovingly
made by Jerry, pools and toys; it is
"where" the neighborhood children gather.
In our community there are several parks with
bike trails that we frequent regularly, a nature
center and many community events to attend and
enjoy. Our community is also blessed with
excellent public and private schools.
